The Golden Era of Eagle Radio House (1942–2026) Established in 1942, at the peak of the golden age of radio, Eagle Radio House (ERH) in Kolhapur stood as a testament to technical mastery and auditory excellence. Founded by visionary Mr. Shivprasad (S.G.) Nagpurkar—a veteran of the Indian Air Force during the Second World War and a dedicated Lions Club member—the establishment was built on an unwavering foundation of discipline and community service.

Drawing inspiration from premier American radio brands, ERH adopted the prestigious trademark "The Mighty Monarch of the AIR"—a sophisticated nod to both its superior receivers and All India Radio. The iconic Eagle logo represented the soaring quality and craftsmanship of vacuum tube technology and stylish cabinetry that made the store a beloved regional landmark.

Following the passing of Mr. S.G. Nagpurkar in 1991, the mantle of leadership was assumed by his son, Mr. Vijay Nagpurkar. Under his stewardship, ERH entered a dynamic era of expansion. For over three decades, he successfully diversified the business into modern electronics, including televisions, tape recorders, and essential home appliances. Crucially, Mr. V.S. Nagpurkar pioneered the family’s transition into specialized hearing instruments, bridging the gap between traditional consumer electronics and emerging clinical services.

The Sunset of ERH and a New Dawn
After nearly 84 remarkable years—spanning more than eight and a half decades of technological evolution and dedicated service—the historic retail operations of Eagle Radio House are gracefully being sunset. Today, the Nagpurkar family's enduring legacy, built on trust, professional integrity, and a lifelong commitment to sound, has evolved entirely into specialized audiology care and hearing health care solutions in Kolhapur.
